Iryna Huk has been involved in medical volunteering for the military for over 10 years, starting with providing basic medical supplies and the first NATO-standard first aid kits to now leading a tactical medical foundation and advocating for changes in national medical supply standards. The Leleka-Ukraine Foundation, a Ukrainian-American initiative, has specialized in tactical medical support to the military since 2014. During the full-scale invasion, the foundation has focused on equipping combat medics with medical backpacks, specialized supplies, stretchers, evacuation vehicles, and electronic warfare systems to protect against FPV drones. In the last 12 months alone, the foundation has provided over 174 million UAH in aid to the medics of the Defense Forces.
