ISAR Ednannia conducted the kick-off meeting for participants of the "SOLVE: Strengthening Organizations for Long-Term Impact" project, implemented with the support of the Save the Children and Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA).

The project will enhance the capabilities of local civil society organizations (CSOs) by strengthening their capacity, increasing resilience, and amplifying impact to achieve long-term effects in communities. For CSOs to help others and drive change in their communities, they must first be robust and resilient in the face of challenges. Achieving this requires continuous investment in their organizational development. Through the project, CSOs will gain project and financial management skills, the basics of fundraising, and effective communications with key audiences and within teams.

Over 40 representatives from 20 CSOs selected to participate in the project from across Ukraine spent two days getting to know each other, presenting their organizations' work, and identifying priorities and expectations from the project.

“This project is vital for us as an organization. We fully understand the need for continuous organizational development and that if you want to grow, you should constantly develop and improve to help more people," noted the head of the Kharkiv-based NGO "Humanitarian Aid Center Volunteer-68” Halyna Kharlamova.

ISAR Ednannia experts conducted an external assessment of the organizational development levels of the selected CSOs, identifying the weaknesses of each organization to address issues and strengthen their potential before the kick-off meeting.

“All organizations actively engaged, conducted objective self-assessments, and committed to work to become stronger and provide better services," mentioned organizational development expert and Head of "Philanthropy Culture Development” Direction at ISAR Ednannia Olga Nikolskaya.

Project partners Save the Children and HLA also noted that the self-sufficiency of CSOs is essential during humanitarian crises, conflicts, and wars, leading to their decision to support organizations in Ukraine.

“Cooperation with ISAR Ednannia is crucial for us - it involves comprehensive organizational support for CSOs. We believe these investments will pay off and strengthen the CSOs and the communities they serve,” added the Learning Solutions Specialist at the HLA Anastasiia Korobchuk.

The “SOLVE: Strengthening Organizations for Long-Term Impact” project will continue until January 2025.
