This year, 23 schools in Lviv received the opportunity to bring their entrepreneurial ideas to life through the Strengthening the Capacity of Youth in Western Ukraine Project, implemented by ISAR Ednannia in partnership with the Western Ukrainian Cluster of Social Enterprises, with the support of UNICEF and active contributions from the Lviv City Council.

The school teams have already received expert guidance, developed their ideas and business plans, and are ready to move into the implementation phase. School social entrepreneurship allows students to create and sell products or services under the guidance of senior mentors and advisors. The income generated is reinvested into school projects or educational initiatives for students. The primary goal is not profit-making but providing education and hands-on experience.

In September, the project participants held a meeting to review the results of the first half of the year and plan the next steps leading up to the year's end. Each of the 23 finalist schools will receive equipment and technology worth between 70,000 and 200,000 UAH to support the development of their entrepreneurial initiatives.

“We are now on the brink of a new stage in the project. The finalist schools will receive the necessary equipment, technology, and mentorship support to establish their social enterprises,” said ISAR Ednannia Executive Director Volodymyr Sheyhus.

The final forum, scheduled for the end of 2024, will serve as a pivotal event where the operating school enterprises and their achievements will be showcased, laying the groundwork for the continued growth of youth entrepreneurship in Ukraine.
