The inaugural participants of ISAR Ednannia's Mentorship School have completed their studies in mentoring and supporting civil society organizations (CSOs). Over eight months, 21 participants learned how to effectively mentor CSOs by establishing rapport with mentees, focusing on their needs, maintaining boundaries, guiding and motivating them, and adapting to rapidly changing contexts. The participants completed four training modules, which included 18 online lectures and three in-person sessions.
"The ISAR Ednannia Mentorship School 2024 has proven its effectiveness not only in teaching what organizational mentorship is and the importance of sharing one's knowledge, skills, and experience with other organizations but also in helping mentors understand where mentorship can be further applied and where they see opportunities for their personal growth. The participants of the School already have ideas on how and where they can use mentorship in the future," says ISAR Ednannia Mentorship School coordinator Olena Matviichuk.
Graduates rated the impact of the Mentorship School on their ability to serve as a mentor at 4.7 out of 5 points. The overall knowledge level about mentorship increased from 3.4 to 4.2 out of 5 points. They also rated the organization and delivery of the Mentorship School 4.95 out of 5 points.
"This year, I made mentorship a priority for myself and sought opportunities to enhance my knowledge and skills. The Mentorship School came at just the right time and was an incredible experience, as I am now part of a strong community that promotes the culture of mentorship," says a graduate of the first ISAR Ednannia Mentorship School and Deputy Head of the Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Association for Self-Organization of People Svitlana Lytvynenko.
ISAR Ednannia Mentorship School graduates have also contributed to developing the program for the next, which will launch in January 2025. To become a participant, you can register via the following link.
