With the support of UNICEF, in partnership with the Youth Platform organization and Kovel City Council, ISAR Ednannia opened a newly renovated youth center City of Ideas for the Kovel community in the Volyn oblast.

To renovate and equip the center’s new premises, ISAR Ednannia granted 700,000 UAH, funded by UNICEF, to the Kovel municipal budget under the city’s targeted social youth program for 2024 – 2026.

It took less than six months to complete the ceiling installation, lighting, heating, insulated flooring, plumbing replacements, wall refinishing, and installation of windows and doors and purchase furniture and equipment for the youth center. Additionally, renovators saved and restored vintage fireplace, providing visitors extra warmth and comfort.

ISAR Ednannia has ensured that the youth center is accessible for people with disabilities. The previous space was on the second floor and people in wheelchairs or those with prosthetics were hard to get there due to the lack of an elevator. The new center is located on the ground floor, making it accessible. Now, the youth center can host events for people with disabilities and veterans. Center is an open and inclusive space for connection, generation of new ideas, and bringing them to life.

"This was a major challenge and experiment for us, as no one had done anything like this before — transferring funds from a community organization, supported by UNICEF, directly to a local government for youth center renovations. And we succeeded. The result exceeded our expectations. We are proud of this collaboration and thrilled for the youth of the Kovel community, who now have a new space for their growth," emphasized Iryna Bieliaeva, ISAR Ednannia’s Partnerships Development Coordinator.

The Youth Potential Development in Western Ukraine Program is implemented by ISAR Ednannia in partnership with implementation partners, with financial support from UNICEF, the Governments of Japan and the Kingdom of Norway, and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the KfW Development Bank.
