Masi Nayyem, a prominent figure who seamlessly combines human rights advocacy, legal practice, and military experience, will share his insights on the critical need to involve veterans in state policies and program development directly affecting them. His thoughts will be part of the panel discussion Prospects for Veteran Policy as a Factor of National Security and Defense at the XIII Civil Society Development Forum (with)STAND on December 5.
Masi first became one of Ukraine's defenders in August 2015. After the full-scale invasion began, he returned to the Armed Forces and sustained a severe head and eye injury. Despite this, he continued to be actively engaged in both civic and professional activities. In 2023, Masi co-founded the Pryncyp NGO. Initially, the organization focused on protecting the rights of servicemembers with injuries. Over time, it expanded its mission to advocate for the rights of all servicemembers and veterans, ensuring effective cooperation with the state.
Masi Nayyem's participation in the Forum will be a valuable contribution to the discussion on the future of veteran policy. His work empowers veterans and their families to defend their rights and dignity.
Join the Forum to hear Masi Nayyem and engage in conversations about the perspectives and challenges in promoting cooperation between veteran communities and the state. Register for the Forum. Registration is open until 6:00 PM on November 22.
