At the end of January 2025, thought leaders, experts, and civil society representatives gathered at the Forum Aftermath What Do We Need to (with)Stand? to discuss the key challenges, trends, and development scenarios facing Ukraine and the civil sector.

This was more than an event — a space for deep analysis, networking, ideas exchange, and efforts synchronizing. Participants jointly sought adaptive solutions, aligned their visions, and coordinated the informational landscape for future action in a complex socio-political context.

The Forum Aftermath meaningfully started with a lecture by Valeriy Pekar, a lecturer at Kyiv-Mohyla and Lviv Business Schools, a publicist, and a thinker. He shared his vision of possible future scenarios and emphasized the importance of shaping a vision of victory now. Its image, value-based essence, and realistic steps toward achievement.

Looking further, the dialogue will continue, particularly regarding support for civil society from the European Union, Norad, Sida, and other partners.

The report on the Forum Aftermath’s outcomes outlines the key findings, strategic directions, and concrete proposals that will serve as a basis to continue the work of civil society organizations. Its purpose is to document ideas and serve as a guide for coordinating efforts between civil society, local and national authorities, donors, and active citizens.

These solutions aim to help society withstand current challenges and lay the groundwork for a better future — one that is just, resilient, and open to change.

The event was held within the framework of the Strong Civil Society of Ukraine – a Driver Towards Reforms and Democracy Project, implemented by ISAR Ednannia and funded by Norway and Sweden. It was also made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity implemented by ISAR Ednannia in partnership with the Ukrainian Center of Independent Political Research (UCIPR) and Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law (CEDEM). The event was further supported through the EU Unity4Community project, implemented by ISAR Ednannia with the financial support of the European Union.
