The second meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Small Grants for Social Services to Families with Children and Children and/or Early Intervention Services in Ukraine Project, administered by ISAR Ednannia, was conducted.

In close cooperation, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities, UNICEF Ukraine, and ISAR Ednannia, with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom, have successfully implemented another stage of the Small Grants for Social Services to Families with Children and Children and/or Early Intervention Services in Ukraine Project.

Only two months have passed since the first meeting of the Project’s Supervisory Board, during which our joint team has carried out substantial work.

During this time, we have:

  • Developed and approved methodological guidelines for the provision of the social service “transitional supported living/training social apartment (house)”.
  • Organized meetings in all 10 oblasts and Kyiv with the participation of over 800 participants.
  • Created an online course on the content of the 8 social services included in the Project.
  • Held webinars and prepared explanatory materials, instructions, and guidance for submitting applications to the grant competition;
  • Set up a hotline, which has already received over 1,000 inquiries;
  • Introduced a feedback mechanism during the application process and processed over 400 messages from applicants.

As a result of this effort, 228 applications were submitted to the competition: 91 from CSOs and charitable foundations, and 137 from municipal institutions, private, and other organizations.

Supervisory Board members noted the high quality and well-coordinated work conducted by the partners, as well as the excellent results achieved at this stage.

“We are particularly pleased to see a significant number of applications from civil society organizations. We are convinced that CSOs have strong potential for growth in the social service provision market. I believe this Project and our involvement in it will not only provide CSOs with support to deliver social services but also help them strengthen their capacity and gain unique experience for future high-quality work in this field,” said Volodymyr Sheyhus, Supervisory Board member and Executive Director at ISAR Ednannia.

The selection of competition winners is currently underway, and the selection committee is actively at work. The decision on the winners will soon be published on the Fund’s website.

The Project is funded by the UK Government under the Social Protection for Inclusion, Resilience, Innovation and Transformation (SPIRIT) project, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities, and UNICEF Ukraine, with administration by ISAR Ednannia.
