From June 11 to 14, Olha Nikolska, Head of Philanthropy Development and Board Member of the Eastern Partnership Fund, implemented by CISU, visited Denmark. The purpose of her visit was to discuss the role of civil society in the face of contemporary challenges, including Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine, and to deepen international cooperation.
In Copenhagen, she participated in the seminar "Civil Society in the Shadows." The main goal of the event was to discuss the role of civil society in democratic countries. Participants analyzed the challenges faced by civil society organizations in Georgia and Ukraine, assessed the impact of geopolitical events on their work, and explored various strategies for promoting democratic values, human rights, and social justice.
Olha Nikolska also took part in Folkemødet, Denmark's largest annual gathering. This three-day democratic festival, held in June, brings together over 50,000 representatives from government, civil society organizations, political leaders, businesses, trade unions, and active citizens. At Folkemødet, participants discuss societal development and celebrate the principles of democracy. As part of the festival, Olha Nikolska participated in the panel discussion "Civil Society in a Time of Change."
We thank the CISU team for the opportunity to bring Ukraine closer to Denmark. Cooperation between CISU, Denmark's largest civil society organization, and ISAR Ednannia will continue and deepen.
