We are pleased to announce the launch of a new project − Unlock Youth: Systemic Strengthening of Youth Services in Preparation for the EU Youth Guarantee in Ukraine. The Project is implemented by ISAR Ednannia in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the All-Ukrainian Youth Center, with the support of UNICEF.
The Youth Guarantee is a European initiative that helps young people receive a quality offer of employment, continued education, apprenticeship, or training. Currently, the Youth Guarantee is successfully implemented across all EU countries. We are proud to contribute to the first step in building a model for implementing this initiative in Ukraine.
As part of the Project, we will conduct a comprehensive, nationally representative youth survey, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and a desk review of data to examine the needs, demands, and situation of NEET youth in Ukraine − young people who are not in education, employment, or training. This component will be implemented in partnership with the Youth Institute.
The research findings will help us identify gaps in the support system for young people who are unemployed and not studying, and propose systemic solutions to address them. The results of the Project will serve as the basis for developing a model for implementing the EU Youth Guarantee in Ukraine, grounded in European approaches and tailored to Ukrainian realities.
At the level of 15 communities, we will develop a comprehensive model to support youth employment and provide grant funding for its implementation. Our implementation partner, the Career Managers Association, will support us in this effort.
One of the Project’s components focuses on strengthening the work of the All-Ukrainian Youth Center by developing new and enhancing existing training programs delivered by the Center. At the heart of all our decisions are the voices and needs of young people and those who work with youth. This component will be implemented with the active involvement of youth centers, including an assessment of their needs and demands. We strive to help the All-Ukrainian Youth Center become even better for you. Follow our updates and announcements to get involved.
The results of our work and findings will be presented early next year at a large national forum with the participation of Ukrainian youth, institutions, and organizations working with young people, representatives of Ukrainian government bodies, and European partners.
We will do everything in our power to ensure that Ukrainian youth build their future, work, and thrive in Ukraine and that at every stage of their lives, they can access the support they need.
