24 representatives of the civil society and public sectors, experienced in local development, gathered to learn how to design transformative changes in their communities. 11 applications for each seat is the best proof that communities need specialists in recovery and development now more than ever.
“The launch of the Recovery and Development Consultants Program is a step toward ensuring that communities have experts with the right knowledge and skills at their side. These are exactly the people Ukrainian recovery and development need most today,” said Volodymyr Sheyhus, Executive Director of ISAR Ednannia.
The Recovery and Development Consultants Program is ISAR Ednannia’s initiative, launched within the EU Unity4Community Project and funded by the European Union. The program will run until 2027 and offers several levels of training − from basic to advanced.
Its goal is to create a network of consultants − people who:
• Help communities plan recovery and development.
• Build partnerships between local authorities and civil society.
• Turn ideas into tangible solutions and projects.
Participants of the basic level will work on key topics such as:
• Role of a recovery and development consultant.
• Public engagement and participation tools;
• Strategic planning and local policy development.
• Preparing communities for EU accession.
“Our program is about people who know how to listen, negotiate, and find solutions. Such consultants can give communities the push they need for real change,” emphasized Alona Dolia, program designer and trainer, in her welcome remarks.
And this is only the beginning! Ahead lie online modules, an advanced level, and a grant competition for graduates.
Stay tuned for announcements to join the next training cycles of the program.
