Glib Bitiukov, a military medic and writer, knows what war is not from the news but from his own experience. In his texts, he speaks about memory, dignity, humanity, and society’s honesty with itself and with those on the frontline − his book To My Daughter. Dad’s Notes from the War is a very personal and, at the same time, deeply relatable story of war, told in the language of care and responsibility towards a child.
On 5 December, at the XIV Civil Society Forum, Glib will give a lecture on Notes from the War: Live. He will speak about what keeps us going in times of great danger, how not to lose our humanity when reality constantly tests us for strength, and why an honest look at one’s own experience is an important step towards collective healing.
We invite you to this conversation to hear the living voice of someone from the war, ask your questions, and take with you stories that will stay long after you leave the hall.
