During the XIV Civil Society Forum withStand, an important panel discussion took place, focusing on one of the key and at the same time most complex processes in international cooperation − the localization of responsibility.
The panel provided a space for an honest and challenging conversation about how donors, international organizations, and Ukrainian civil society currently understand and assume responsibility in the localization process — from access to decision-making and resources to accountability to the people and communities they serve.
The discussion featured Volodymyr Kebalo, representative of the British Embassy in Ukraine; Inna Topal from International Alert; Gritt Richter from Help Localization Facility (HLF); Vasyl Romaniuk, Cooperation Projects Coordinator at the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine; and Volodymyr Sheyhus, Executive Director of ISAR Ednannia. Civic activist, volunteer, and founder of the Come Back Alive Charitable Foundation, Vitalii Deinega, moderated the discussion.
Watch the full recording of the panel discussion on our YouTube channel to explore whether localization is a sector-specific issue or a broader approach, at which level and at what stage the process should begin, and what benefits and risks different stakeholders − donors, international organizations, Ukrainian CSOs, and communities − see in this process.
