The Joint Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Fund announces the results of the first wave of the "Around Life. Around Thoughts" grant competition.
The competition was aimed at supporting Ukrainian civil society and charitable organizations working in the field of mental health and psychosocial support, helping people and communities overcome the consequences of the war, and developing sustainable models of care in Ukraine. Applicants had access to three types of grants — small, medium, and strategic — and each project had to align with one of the competition's five key priorities: psychoeducation and resilience-building, professionalization of the sector, social connections and community cohesion, generating knowledge and tools for practice, and developing platforms and safe spaces for care.
Selection Results
Of the 171 applications received, 138 made it to the review stage — and ultimately 19 projects were awarded support:
- 4 strategic grants — for national CSOs, research organizations, and consortia working on systemic change in mental health and psychosocial support;
- 9 project (medium) grants — for regional organizations with a track record of project implementation that are developing local support systems;
- 6 small grants — for local civil society organizations working directly with people and communities.
What's Next
In the near future, the winning organizations will begin implementing their projects, which will reach thousands of people in communities across Ukraine — ranging from awareness-raising initiatives and specialist training to the development of safe spaces and practical support tools.
