We invite you to join the workshop Financial Risks in Fundraising and How to Avoid Them at the Heroes’ Backbone Professional Fundraisers Summit, organized by ISAR Ednannia on September 12 in Kyiv.
During the session, you’ll get answers to crucial questions such as what documents are needed if a charitable foundation wants to open an account in a foreign bank or what are the specific challenges of this process. You will also learn how to protect charitable accounts from cybercriminals and train your staff in cybersecurity best practices for financial transactions.
For charitable organizations, having accounts in foreign banks is often necessary to receive funds from international donors. Lyudmyla Slobodianyk, Director of Compliance Department at Raiffeisen Bank, will clearly explain the requirements of both European and Ukrainian banks.
Her colleague, Ruslana Okrug, Head of Information Security, will share insights on how to safeguard your organization from hacker attacks and how to train employees to handle sensitive information with caution.
For more details on this and other valuable workshops at the Summit, please refer to the event program.

The phrase "This day has come!" has become one of the hallmarks of Ukrainian fundraising. That's why the Heroes' Backbone Professional Fundraisers Summit could not be complete without the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, represented by its director, Andriy Shuvalov.
Drones for the army or an actual satellite? Modular housing or demining operations? It seems there are no impossible tasks for the foundation. Andriy will share unique examples of how to tirelessly inspire Ukrainians and the world to raise millions for the most urgent war-related and humanitarian needs.
Andriy joined the foundation as a volunteer in March 2022, helping organize warehouse operations in Podil. He later became the head of the operations and logistics department, responsible for streamlining logistics and optimizing coordination between the Kyiv and Dnipro hubs.
"Everyone should be involved in defending the country. You are either in the military or helping the military defeat the enemy. That is my motivation. And also, my son, whom I want to raise in a free, independent country," says Andriy.

The high level of self-organization in society and mutual support facing the daily challenges of war distinguishes Ukraine's fundraising experience in recent years and is something we can share with the world.
At the Heroes’ Backbone Professional Fundraisers Summit, organized on September 12 by ISAR Ednannia, we will present a comprehensive new study on the activities of donor and international organizations in Ukraine from 2022 to 2024. The study was conducted by the Institute of Analytics and Advocacy in the framework of Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity. The authors analyzed the activities of 162 organizations that provided aid to Ukraine and included ten in-depth interviews with representatives from international, donor, and non-governmental organizations on how global initiatives influence local changes during the war.
ISAR Ednannia will also present a unique book compiling impressive and inspiring stories of Ukrainian fundraisers. The book will showcase examples of innovative approaches to fundraising that could easily serve as models for the international community.
